Alex Hindman age 8 of Quarryville, PA shot his first gobbler on April 19, 2008 durning PA's youth spring gobbler hunt. It weighed 20.5 lbs, 10" beard, 3/4 spurs. His dad, Field-Staffer, Tom Hindman called this bird in for him using a Buck Gardner Grand Slam slate call, and a carbon striker.

Hey Buck Its Justin Boardman. It was a pleasure talking to you today as always. I am always honored to get to talk to the champion of champions! Like I said, I will be coming back to the states around the second week of July and I looking forward to that. Then I get to go on leave from Aug 16 through Sept 14 so I will be able to go to the Ducks Unlimited Great outdoors festival in Oshkosh WI. Maybe you will be there and I can get a chance to see ya.  If not I am planning on leaving home a few days early on my drive back to NC and I am gonna detour a little bit and stop by Memphis to see ya. Im sure excited for this years season. Im not gonna be able to hunt like crazy but im gonna definatly get some early geese when I am on leave and Im gonna try and find some birds in North Carolina when I am there. Take care and again thank you so much for everything.

Here's Pro Staffer Jason Patterson with a real nice double bearded (10.5" & 8.75") Tom that weighed 20 lbs. Jason is national director of our Youth Pro Staff and Field Staff.

Pro Staffer Shane Rossen holding the winning trophy for the 2008 IWA and Jeremy Romain standing 4th place. Great Job Guys!!

Pro-staffer Randy Gruhlke went to South Dakota to chase some Merriams. Five of them made the trip, each taking their 2-bird limit for a total of 10 nice Merriams, in a total of 3-days hunting.

All the birds were adult gobblers, with the exception of 1 bird taken as a trophy mount, an adult hen that sported the dark version of the "smokey-gray" color mutation.  She was with 2 adult gobblers that were not shot, as Bob wanted this hen for his trophy room.  (The area of South Dakota we were hunting was "Any-Turkey", so the hen was a legal bird).

Richard Skuppin with a turkey he got in Southern Utah. The turkey had a 9" beard and 3/4" spurs.

Here's our Friend Barry Kenney from the National Pork Board with a pile of snows he got into this spring.
